The Morgan Matriarchy: Chapter 2.6

Welcome back to The Morgan Matriarchy! I didn’t get a chance to sim today, but I did sim quite a lot yesterday, and quite a lot of family developments occurred. (Including, unfortunately, the first deaths of generation two. T_T)

I’ve also uploaded the first generation three sims to the Gallery! Luna and Misty are there if your game needs a Neat Computer Whiz or an Evil Mixologist.

When I loaded the lot, there was still an hour or so left of Springfest, so the Flower Bunny was just… hanging around in the backyard…

Example #3942739843 of why I don’t prioritize kitchen/dining tables anymore: I actually think it’s really cute how they’ll go sit on beds or couches or whatever instead. Sims wanting to spend time together so much just touches my heart.

Sibling bonding before school. ❤ I felt like I didn’t actually show enough of the gen 3 kids in the last update, so I wanted to make an effort to photograph and talk about them more. They’re a really cute bunch!

What a cute outfit! Ignore the sad expression: it’s really, really difficult to keep her needs up, so this is pretty much her default expression.

I wasn’t able to age the twins up until the day before what would have been their birthday in game anyway, and it was largely because her needs were so often in the toilet that she couldn’t skill. >.<

Speaking of sims whose needs are difficult to keep up, Jasmine had finally just about recovered from her last pregnancy and was able to resume something resembling a normal matriarch workload. I knew we’d have space in the house pretty soon, so the next time she wandered across the street I had her pick up another potential baby daddy, and she also got in some more woodworking projects since they need the money and I have a feeling being pregnant again will leave her too wiped to do much in the way of woodworking. She’d earned a lot of aspiration points, so I had her buy the reward that makes her creations sell for more simoleons.

I also finally had her start a club for her siblings so that they could spend more time at the house. Since each club starts out with 6 slots, I had her add her four oldest siblings (Avalon, Brian, Cameron, and Drusilla), and Keith, because he’s my her favorite.

Keith is the kids’ favorite, too. 😀

When the kids got home, I got the dreaded notification that Luna had earned an A, which meant she qualified to move out. T_T Luna is definitely my favorite generation 3 kid, and it was honestly really hard for me to move her out. I delayed it for almost 12 sim hours. ;; She’s just so helpful, and so fun, and so pretty, and so all around delightful.

Luna’s third trait is Erratic! This became something of a theme in this update, as you’ll see.

This is both my favorite part of playing family-based challenges and why I’m not having every single spare in this challenge procreate: can you imagine how full the neighborhood would be if they were all having kids, and their kids were having kids, and so on?? If sims roll Family aspirations or the family-oriented trait then I have them have kids, but otherwise nah.

I went ahead and gave Jasmine a new everyday outfit for this new stage of her life. What do you think?

Still putting off moving Luna out. ;; It was Love Day, and I like to have sims give their parents and/or siblings flowers on that day when they don’t have significant others.

But finally I couldn’t put it off anymore: I had them take their selfie together, and moved Luna in with her Aunt Avalon, Uncle Cameron, and cousins Mikayla and Mark.

But there were still a lot more birthdays to go, since not one but three sims returned home from school that day with A grades! First up was Nadine: her second trait is Erratic, and she has the Bodybuilder aspiration.

And thennnn Quentin stole a piece of cake before Nadine could put candles back on it, so she had to make a new cake. Her first baking effort was much more successful than Luna’s.

October was the next one at the cake! She randomized Romantic as her second trait, and also has the Bodybuilder aspiration.

I did my best to redecorate their area of the teen room for them, but I’m underwhelmed by my decor options for athletic sims. >.< I don’t have any CC, since I do like what the game already has, but there are a few areas in which it’s lacking and general decor like this are one of them. ;;

The third birthday of the night was Misty. T_T I’m not gonna lie, I gasped out loud when her grade alert popped up in the game. I was still recovering from not having Luna around, so Misty moving out as well was just too much! But she aged up, randomized Materialistic as her third trait, and moved into the Partihaus house. I’m thinking about moving Nadine & October in with her when their time comes.

This is the only picture I have from the next 12 sim hours or so. ;; Quentin just chilling until River finished her remaining skills so they could age up, too.

I wasn’t entirely sure River and I would make it, but at last it was time to age the twins up! Quentin has Cheerful as his first trait, while River has Erratic as hers.

Perseus approves! Which, admittedly, he showed by throwing confetti in Jasmine’s room long after River’s birthday, and then by standing there (along with Quentin, who isn’t pictured but I assure you was there) and watching Jasmine sleep… but it’s the thought that counts, right?

There was also a birthday in the extended family: Herald’s daughter, Christen, is now a Teen! I think I’m going to wait until all the gen 2 spares’ kids are Young Adults and then upload them as a group. (Which will be a million years from now, since Keith’s son is still a Toddler, so if you want any of them before that just let me know and I’ll upload them.)

I love that the twins grew up into somewhat coordinating PJs.

I also love that they have the same aspiration!

October, playing in trash does not count as exercise!!

Now that Quentin and River were children, it was time to take the family on an outing I’d been planning ever since Nadine & Luna both gained the Dog Lover trait: a trip to the dog park in Brindleton Bay! Brindleton Bay is probably my favorite neighborhood, and the dog park is definitely one of my favorite public lots, so it was really nice to take them there.

Perseus is just standing there like “:D I’ll just wait here for my hugs :D”

Jasmine had an especially productive outing. She was able to get her selfie with Misty for the wall…

Met a potential future baby daddy…

And spent some time with Nadine and October’s dad, Drake! Since he’s also a Dog Lover, I had them invite him over. Well, that and the fact that he’s the only one of the kids’ dads who’s still alive, which I still feel bad about.

Other developments at the park: Nadine made a delightful new friend! I actually thought about having her adopt her, since that still would have left room in the house for another baby, but ultimately it didn’t happen.

Poor Perseus wasn’t as lucky. (And yes, he did autonomously know to use the Cautious Introduction–I checked before I took the picture.)

It just isn’t a Morgans outing if at least one person doesn’t take a nap at some point.

There is one (1) sim benefiting from this being the part of the generation where everyone dies, and that is Misty, whose Evil trait allows her to bask in sims’ misery.

I just thought this was a pretty shot.

Speaking of shots I just really like, have a few of the twins!

Everyone’s favorite part of the weekend~: homework party!

Brian and Avalon died about ten hours apart, and because I’m terrible I had October cheer Jasmine up to eliminate the sad moodlet. I do like that sims hear about their family members dying and have those moodlets, but at this point in the challenge I had to get Jasmine pregnant again, which wasn’t going to happen if she had the sad moodlet overpowering everything else. ):

But thanks to Leroy McCraig here, baby #19 is on the way! I’d be more than willing to let Jasmine retire early, the way Faye did, if she ever rolls up any want to marry ~~Drake~~ any of her guys, but I do at least want to get to 20 kids this generation.

For once it’s not my fault that a sim collapsed! \o/

I’m really bad at getting my sims to do things out of the house, so I’m always glad when they take the initiative to roam around the nearby neighborhood on their own.

Misty invited Nadine out on the town, so for once I had Nadine accept and invite along some more sims for good measure. I thought it would be fun to have all four of the older girls out together, I wanted the twins to have the chance to spend more time with their dad, and of course Keith had to come!
